We are currently looking to fill openings for turbine mechanics with a minimum of 3+ year solid experience working as a Turbine Mechanic / Turbine Millwright on any frame units during installation commissioning and outages.
The primary responsibility of the Turbine Mechanic, Steam and Gas, is to safely accomplish the overhaul, maintenance, repair and installation of heavy rotating machinery used mainly in Turbines, Generators and other power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics
work closely with Craft Labor Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.
Selected candidates must have experience maintaining, dismantling, repairing and installing any type of frame turbines and associated equipment, including ventilating and heating systems. Prospective applicants must have experience aligning above equipment
using laser alignment or heavy experience with dial indicators/calipers using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBBILITIES
Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs
Work on (steam and/or gas) path; lube oil system, seal oil system and hydraulic system of a steam and/or gas turbine and/or generator.
Dismantling machinery or equipment
Assemble and install equipment
Ability to move machinery and equipment
Repair and or rebuild of turbines and large industrial equipment
Work unsupervised on any part of a turbine (gas or steam) and on generators.PHYSICAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able and willing to work long hours
Must be able and willing to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis
Must be able/willing to work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold) for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb ladders and steps
Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments is required.
International travel may be requiredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Vocational technical school as a turbine mechanic or 5 years’ experience working on frame turbines
Minimum of three years’ experience working on steam and gas turbine outages.
